Safeguard Your Health With a Health Insurance Policy

Nowadays, it’s very important to ensure your health. There are a lot of companies who can provide you with a health insurance policy, which is both affordable and reliable for you. But before you apply for a health insurance policy, there are certain terms you should get familiar with.

Plans for a health insurance policy

There are certain plans you should keep in mind before getting insurance for yourself or your family members. They are cited below:

AmPmInsure: We make you Insurance Smart

1. Fee-for-service (FFS) or Indemnity

This provides flexibility in exchange for your expenses, paperwork and higher premiums. In this plan, you can choose your own hospitals and doctors and can easily get your treatment done by a specialist rather than by a general physician for which you have to pay a certain amount as deductible. This plan is the most common of all and doesn’t cover most of the treatments. So it’s advisable to read all the terms and conditions before buying this plan. These plans have a cap but the cap usually doesn’t cover your premiums.

2. Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)

This is an inexpensive plan and also not that flexible. This plan provides you with preventive health measures to save your expenses on treatments. If you apply for this plan, you have to go to those doctors and health centers who are enlisted in the plan. You usually have to pay a fee which is quite less. If you want your treatments to be done by any doctor who is not in this plan, you have to pay for all the treatments and also the doctor.

3. Point of Service (POS)

This is more flexible than a HMO. In this, you can ask for other doctor who is out of the network of a POS plan but you’ll have to pay for the treatment. Here too, you have to pay a co-payment. This plan provides you with more health care measures and workshops.

4. Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)

In this plan, you have to pay a minimum amount as co-payment. The doctors and the health services are paid by the insuring company. But if you get your treatments done by doctors out of the network, you have to pay the entire bill and ask for reimbursement later on.

If you follow these plans, it’ll be easy for you to get a health insurance policy that’ll suit your needs.
